Ben Greenwell CA
Founder/Director
Ben knew he wanted to be a Chartered Accountant back in Year 6 and hasn’t looked back since. Born and bred in Bendigo, he grew up surrounded by family business and started bookkeeping for his parents in year 11. He’s been working formally in accounting since 2002 and built an accounting practice from scratch for Australian Unity Trustees. Ben loves helping businesses grow and brings decades of experience, local knowledge and leadership to the Verliyah team. Outside the office, he’s a competitive barefoot water skier, junior soccer coach and dad of four. You’ll also find him contributing to local and national sporting committees and cheering from the sidelines on weekends.
Lisa Greenwell
Practice Manager
With a background in nursing and public health, Lisa brings empathy, care and organisation to her role in the practice. She spent her early career working on hospital wards and at the blood bank before moving into nurse education at La Trobe University. These days she’s a key part of Verliyah’s operations, supporting the team while also providing her time to community commitments. Lisa has been a coach and committee member at St Therese’s Netball Club for over a decade, and is an active parent rep at the local primary school. Whether at work or in the community, Lisa is always ready to lend a hand to our team and clients.
Sophie Kieu
Senior Accountant
With 5 years of accounting experience, Sophie values the stories behind the numbers. She believes accounting is about connection and loves helping clients solve problems and feel more confident in their finances. Many of her client relationships have grown into friendships. Sophie has a passion for cooking (especially Italian cuisine), nature walks and classic movies with her family. Friendly, thoughtful and detail-oriented, Sophie adds warmth and insight to every client interaction.
Amanda Tennant
Intermediate Accountant
Amanda has five years of accounting experience and holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Federation University.
After owning and operating a country hotel for 15 years, as well as having a farming background and being self employed for much of her adult life, Amanda understands the realities of running a business. Her people focused approach helps clients feel supported and confident in their finances.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys trips to Bali, bike rides, fishing, catching up with friends and a cold beer on the weekend.
Danielle Carter
Undergraduate Accountant
Danielle brings a rich mix of experience to the team, with a background in customer service, education and healthcare! She’s currently studying a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and supports our clients with payroll, trust account reconciliations, tax prep, BAS lodgements and more.
Danielle is known for her patience and willingness to dive into the detail. Outside of work she runs her own creative small business, loves markets, spending time with her niece and is happily planning her wedding (sparkles included).
Lucille Moine
Bookkeeper
Lucille completed her Cert IV in Bookkeeping in 2024 and has over two years experience, having assisted with the financial administration of her husband’s sole trader business. She joined the team to further develop her bookkeeping career and enjoys helping clients stay organised and on track.
Before moving into bookkeeping, she worked in retail, where she gained valuable customer service experience. She loves the variety of bookkeeping and finds the work both rewarding and mentally stimulating.
Outside of work, Lucille is a mum of two who enjoys travelling, sewing and spending time with her family.
Ebony Monks
Trainee
Ebony is currently completing her Cert III & IV in Business through a traineeship, bringing a strong willingness to learn. Ebony studied Screen and Media at RMIT in Melbourne before returning to Bendigo looking for a more hands-on pathway to build practical skills.
She enjoys getting to know our clients and their businesses, as well as the variety of work her role offers at Verliyah, from organising files to supporting client tasks.
Outside of work, Ebony enjoys freelance creative work including animation, digital art and video editing, and has a love for history, especially reading Greek plays and classic literature.
